Between 4 -7 August, Cluj-Napoca City hosted the most eagerly awaited festival of the year, “Untold”.
Currently in its second year, after winning “Best Major European Festival” in 2015, the event has once again united electronic music fans from all over the world.
The festival was attended by important names in the genre including Armin van Buren, Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Afrojack and Hardwell, Over 300,000 people attended, among them the City Mayor and his wife. Guests paid a total of nearly EUR 25,000,000 for entrance tickets, accommodation, food, beverages and other entertainment facilities. The festival was conceived by Mr. Bogdan Buta, a young man who has been involved in various projects for students in the past.
One of the headliners, Armin van Buren, had bonded with the Romanian audience after his first appearance at the festival last year. He delivered a memorable performance, extending his concert by nearly four hours. At the end of the show, he wrapped himself in the Romanian flag, and the message “I embrace Romania” appeared on the stage screens.
Most of people came to Cluj-Napoca for both the music and the liberating atmosphere: a place where they could share amazing experiences with people who loved the same type of music.
