LEONTIN TRIFA is an attorney with 16 years of professional experience within the financial industry sector. During his experience he has worked extensively in this industry assisting clients on complex regulatory matters, finance transactions including loan documentation assistance and restructuring operations, merger and acquisition transactions within the financial industry sector, capital markets operations including assistance in high profile cases involving market abuse allegations.

His experience in the regulatory area includes assistance granted to regulated entities during complex operations (authorization of regulated entities), including assisting the regulatory entity during the drafting of the secondary legislation related to securitization of receivables and mortgage bonds.

He also assisted either borrowers or credit institutions in loan financing operations, complex loan restructurings and disposal of non-performing loan portfolios.

During his professional experience he has led complex M&A transactions in the financial area including the acquisitions of regulated entities, mergers between credit institutions, sale of Pillar II pension funds or integration or disposal of non-core activities.

Within the capital markets industry he was involved in initial public offerings or takeover offers, set-up and authorization of asset management companies and mutual funds, and he has advised issuers as regards stock option plans or regulatory compliance aspects.

During the last years he has been involved as a defense attorney in complex white collar crime cases, involving market abuse allegations, embezzlements. money laundering or tax fraud cases.

Leontin holds a Bachelor Degree in Law from Bucharest Faculty of Law and is a member of the Bucharest Barr Association.

The conference organized in collaboration with the National Bank, brought together experts from the national and international banking sector, private business representatives and state institutions.

The event focused on presenting strategies for restarting the economy and economic prospects in European and global context. It also analyzed the challenges, the pace at which reforms should be implemented, sustainability measures and the national project that needs to be employed in the coming years.
